After finishing their conference schedule this past weekend, the UC Davis Aggies have officially been named the Pacific Central Champions. UC Davis ended their season with a 10-0 home win against UC Merced. Pitcher Kelly Hinkle (Jr) allowed no runs for 4 innings and pitcher Hannah Sarlatte (So) came in for one inning to close the game before the Aggies won in a mercy-rule victory. Melanie Callahan (Fr) ended the game with a walk-off double in the 5th inning. She went 2 for 2 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI's. Other notable players include Alexandra Azzopardi (Jr), who also went 2 for 2 with 1 double and 2 RBI's. Amanda Gilchrist went 3 for 4 and scored 3 runs to help the Aggies win. The Aggies have earned themselves a bid to Regionals, which they will be hosting at UC Davis on April 22nd and 23rd. At Regionals, UC Davis will face Pacific South Champions, Grand Canyon University; Pacific At-Large Bid, Cal State Fullerton; and Pacific At-Large Bid, UC Merced.

The UC Davis Aggies travelled to Santa Cruz for the opening games of the NCSA season.
Jodi Hinojosa was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Sunday during Game 1, driving in four on two hits to lead UC Davis past UC Santa Cruz 19-1. Hinojosa drove in runs on a home run in the fourth and a triple in the fifth. UC Davis got on the board in the first inning when Joanne Camaquin singled. The offensive onslaught came from singles by Kelly Hinkle, Lila Simpson, Camaquin, and Amanda Gilchrist and a double by Siobhan Murphy. Hinkle was the winning pitcher for UC Davis, surrendering one run on four hits over five innings, striking out six and walking zero. UC Davis tallied 18 hits on the day. Alexandra Azzopardi, Hinkle, Hinojosa, Simpson, Murphy, and Camaquin each had multiple hits for the Aggies. Hinkle and Azzopardi each managed three hits to lead UC Davis. Defensively, the Aggies were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
UC Davis easily did away with UC Santa Cruz 14-1 during Game 2. The Aggies got things moving in the first inning. UC Davis batters contributing to the big third inning included Hinojosa, Alyssa Beckers and Siobhan Murphy, all driving in runs in the inning. Joanne Camaquin pitched the Aggies to victory. She went five innings, allowing one run on six hits, striking out five and walking zero. UC Davis smacked two home runs on the day; Hinojosa had a homer in the first inning and Melanie Callahan put one out in the fourth inning. The Aggies racked up 16 hits in the game. Hinojosa, Rachelle Cepeda, Callahan, Murphy, Ashlee Bird, and Camaquin all collected multiple hits for the team. Camaquin, Bird, Murphy, Callahan, Cepeda, and Hinojosa all had two hits to lead UC Davis.
UC Davis coasted to an easy victory over UC Santa Cruz 26-2 during Game 3. The Aggies opened up scoring in the first inning, when Callahan doubled, scoring one run. UC Davis notched nine runs in the second inning. Paulina Binsfeld, Amanda Gilchrist, Alexandra Azzopardi, Lauren Oliver, and Lila Simpson all contributed in the big inning with RBIs. Hannah Sarlatte pitched the Aggies to victory. She went five innings, allowing two runs on four hits, striking out five and walking zero. The Aggies saw the ball well in Game 3, racking up 19 hits in the game. Simpson, Oliver, and Azzopardi all had three hits to lead UC Davis.

The UC Davis Aggies are Pacific Regional Champions! In the Championship game of the Pacific Regional Tournament against Grand Canyon University, the Aggies came out on top. Junior, Kelly Hinkle lead UC Davis on the mound, holding GCU to only 4 runs. Freshman, Melanie Callahan hit in the winning run with a walk off double. In the bottom of the 7th inning the Aggies were losing 3-4. Callahan came up to the plate with 2 outs, and with 2 strikes on her, she hit a rocket over the center fielder's head to bring in 2 runs. This hit won the game for the Aggies in an exciting 5-4 victory.

The pool play schedule is out! The Aggies are the seeded 2nd in the 2017 NCSA National Tournament. Their first game will be against the University of Pittsburgh at 10:00am on May 19th. See the schedule below.

The UC Davis Aggies took on San Jose State University in their first home series of the 2017-2018 NCSA season.
UC Davis snatched the lead late in Game 1 in a 10-6 victory over San Jose State University on Saturday. The game was tied at 5 with UC Davis batting in the bottom of the fifth when Lauren Oliver singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run. Kelly Hinkle took the circle allowing 11 hits and 6 runs over 7 inning, striking out three and walking one. UC Davis tallied 11 hits in the game. Alexandra Azzopardi and Rachelle Cepeda each had multiple hits for the Aggies. Alexandra went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Aggies.
During Game 2 of the series, UC Davis came out on top 11-8. Both UC Davis and San Jose State offenses were strong at the plate as UC Davis collected nine hits and San Jose State eight in the high-scoring game. UC Davis got things started in the second inning when Kelly Hinkle drove in one when she singled. Joanne Camaquin led things off on the rubber for UC Davis allowing eight runs on eight hits over seven innings and striking out two. UC Davis had nine hits in the game. Jodi Hinojosa, Lila Simpson, and Hannah Sarlatte all managed multiple hits to lead the Aggies.
UC Davis made quick work of San Jose State on Sunday during the final game of the series with a 16-0 victory. In a game that lasted only 3 innings, Hannah Sarlatte took the circle, pitching a no hitter and was backed by a strong defense. UC Davis scored 16 runs on 16 hits with Lila Simpson, Alexandra Azzopardi, and Amanda Gilchrist leading the team with two hits each. Lila and Amanda also knocked in multiple runs with three RBIs each on the day.
